Accurate Color and Thermal Videos in Real Time
The FLIR Duo R is the world’s first dual sensor camera that offers radiometric thermal and visible light imaging in the most compact and lightweight packaging, making it perfect for gimbals as well as drone rigs and mounts.
Similar to a small action camera, the Duo R follows its predecessor–the FLIR Duo–and offers the same groundbreaking features, such as onboard recording of real-time remote camera control. On the other hand, the upgraded FLIR Duo R is designed specifically with thermal drone experts in mind as it offers more precise, accurate, and calibrated temperature measurements in every pixel for improved visibility during contactless aerial temperature measurements.
With a camera body measuring only 41x59x29.6mm and weighing 84 grams, this small and powerful camera offers +/-5°C or 5% accuracy in thermal measurement reading, captures 1080p color videos, and integrates the new Lepton thermal sensor for 2 megapixels of thermal video in 160×120 resolution.
Fully Radiometric Thermal Images
Aside from capturing accurate pixel-by-pixel thermal videos, the FLIR® Duo R also captures thermal images. This means you can capture still thermal images during an aerial survey for later analysis and review.
In-Flight Image Enhancement and Remote Control
During in-flight recording, users can switch between color and thermal camera, view footage in picture-in-picture mode (PIP) so you can perform multiple activities at once (such as watching a video in a pinned window in one corner of the screen while configuring settings), and select the MSX® Blended feature for more detailed imagery in daylight conditions.
The FLIR® Duo R also offers real-time remote control of basic camera functions–recording start/stop, selection between image color palettes, capturing still images, switching to video streaming – over Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).
Multiple Live Video Outputs and Recording Options
Recording long videos are made even easier with H.264 compression and speedy export of MOV formats to the onboard microSD card. The Duo R also has a wide 5-26 VDC input power range for better integration to onboard systems. Additionally, it provides you with two options for live video output: analog video via built-in 10-pin mini-USB connector or digital video via a micro-HDMI connector.
Highly Compatible with Action Camera Mounts and Controllers
Unlike many other dual sensor and thermal cameras, the Duo R allows MAVLink integration with MAVLink-compatible flight controllers and camera configurations with the FLIR Duo R mobile app via Bluetooth. It’s also compatible with most action camera rigs and mounts.
